As most should be aware by now, Mahn is retiring from the Brotherhood. Mahn is the current host of the game, and so once he leaves, we will be left without a host. However, finding a new host is not easy. Post here if you know someone or can yourself. Please give as much information as possible, such as internet speed, computer speed, when they can host, how long they can host, and so on. The more we know, the better we can decide. When giving your connection speed, please use the image tag. It makes it more convenient than us having to click every link just to see the image. For the host chosen, we will have to discuss if they become a Brotherhood member or not. However, they will gain administrator abilities to help with the server.
Please keep in mind that when you become the host, there are certain requirements. You must be willing to host pretty much twenty four hours a day. There would be no "Well, I am going to shut down the server for a few hours so I can go on a raid in World of Warcraft.". You must be willing to do server backups on an external storage location to help keep the savefiles safe incase something ever happened to the computer. There would be no "Well, I can just put it on a different part of my computer drive." If you do not have an external storage location, then you would have to get one. You will have to allow access to your computer through online control for other members of the Brotherhood to control the computer when neccesary. Many times, I need to do updates to the server, and having to be in contact with the host to do it every time will not be convenient enough.
If you forgot some information, please do not make a second post. It makes it harder to scroll through and find several different posts from the same person just saying "Oh, and this too." If it is in one post, it makes it easier to see what exactly the details are.

Well, I would be able to host this week, fiancee is out of town at her mothers but Mahn hasnt left yet, I will definitly be able to host on weekends. I have a fast internet spee and Computer speed, I just upgraded my OS. I am also good with forums but I am not sure how long I will be able to host. Every weekend is a definite but during the week is etchy. EDIT:
Oh yea, I forgot about that as well, mine runs on AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60 Ghz and 1919 MB RAM
Its also a VISTA, a newer one without all the bugs and fuck ups.
And I could probably talk my fiance into letting me host it 24/7
I have a USB Flashdrive, is that good enough Kija?
EDIT SOME MORE: I can host 24/7. I would enjoy the chance to be able to host and hope to be picked.

Oy, here's mine, but lemme start off by saying to Joker: Anyways, the connection's decent, although nothing too special, as is the PC itself. I keep my PC on 24/7, so technically, I COULD host, but...surely it requires a great deal of trust to be given the rights to host the server. How many of us have earned that? I myself would be honored to be able to actually give back to the game after so much it's done for me, but I'm not sure how qualified I'd be for a responsibility so huge. The computer runs on 2.2 GHz dual core and has 2 GB of RAM.

Remember, it's upload speed that matters a lot, since download is usually so much higher. If your upload speed sucks, the game's gonna lag.
I'd offer to host, but I lack a static IP, my router is stupid and can reset randomly, and I only have low-end DSL. Like 3000k down, 700k up

It also needs to be known that ONLY Brotherhood members can host because of the protections wrote into the code. Which means you'd be getting robes from this. Unless Kija decides to change it. So, needless to say: Assholes need not apply!Well darn. I so wanted to host tooooooo.

I offer myself, though my speed is kind of horrid on the upload scale.

I would, however my computer kind of sucks. Although we are having a raffle at work, which I might be able to get a very nice desktop from. If I get it, I will see what I can do about having a port opened up on the router I'm behind (Provided I learn how to) and will apply for it. I just hope the distance between myself and the router doesn't cause further upload problems. Btw, this is what I rated. I could always move the computer to the other wall, so the wireless antennae is more pointed towards the router...

Oh yeah, my upload speed test from earlier today. Sadly, I lack a dedicated PC to use at the moment as a host, so I'd end up using my own desktop if I had to. I know my port forwarding works as I've hosted other games before, such as Super Smash Bros. BYOND without too big of lag problems even when I was doing other things. (The last time I hosted it a lot was before I added in the extra RAM if I remember correctly. Back then it was like 712 MB ram.) I'm hoping to get a new computer built up sometime soonish though, and if that happens I'd use the current one (1.7 ghz, 2 gigs ram WinXP) as a hosting box or something. EDIT AGAIN: At the moment, I lack an external hard drive, however I've got 3 internal drives at least, and I could probably snag an 80 GB external. I'd need to be told how to enable the online control thing for the computer, as I've yet to do that. EDIT ONCE MORE: I have a 4 GB flashdrive lying right next to my comp, and I could clear things off it and use my old 512 for class things without a problem. Oh wait, I DO have a spare computer. However, an ancient 486 won't do a thing except maybe play Hunt the Wumpus.

Pentium 4 @3ghz Windows XP SP3 1 Gb Ram (512x2 DDR) Charter Cable Internet 3mb down/500-700k up (yah its pretty weak)The closest server to me is KY, bout 200mi~ away, which has nearly the same performance. Apparently we have the 5mb package. lol I leave the PC on 24/6 usually, so it's use to being on and so am I habit-wise. I'd prefer not to be the first choice, I don't have an external HDD but the closest I have is a 2nd HDD that has just recently been reformatted; More of a backup plan for that just in case decision.

Last I knew, for as many players as we have the savefiles are only 800 or so MBs. Maybe a little more by now.
You can get a 2 GB flash and be good on savefile backup.
PNY 2GB Flash @ Wal-Mart: $20.00
Joker: Would your fiance be okay with us having remote access to the computer? It's pretty much needed.

I'd need to configure my computer to host agian but it shouldn't take long anyway. Heres the thing from speedtest.net My computer is on 24/7 and I only use it to do the random game or youtube stuff. If the server ever goes down I would most likely be due to my computer being unplugged. Its only happened twice but ferrets will continue to pull if they really want that cord >.> . Other than that it should be fine. Even if I somehow get to be host I still remember what you guys said a year or two ago : AxelRevolver and Bolt will never become Brotherhood members. I'd be fine with it either way. Any lag caused would be the virus scanners running during the night and midday. Youtube is used frequently on my computer but it shouldn't cause any major lag or w/e to the server.

Bolt's got a fucking good connection, and he sounds like a willing host. I wouldn't sweat giving him the damn robes in exchange for it, and he's grown up a lot too.

I would not be opposed to Bolt hosting, as long as he promises to stop whacking his head and defibrilating himself (That WAS Bolt that did that stuff, right?).

I can't think of anyone who's shown as much improvement as you, honestly, Bolt. Despite that whole list-of-can't picturing in robes, I'd say you have The best out of it, even (between us) judging by a few not on that list. But anyways, I hope you get it. You've always been a lot of fun to be around, and you know your stuff, what with being here as long as you have and how you've been able to keep a good head on your shoulders (and at times, just keeping your head on helped..). I think you'd make a fairly decent addition to the team. Good luck, man..
