So now that i remember what my ideas are, i can finally write about them. I remember the days when the people hung out in the bar, around midnight in chatroom hosted(much like ventrillo). This was an unforgettable time period where the people who were able to participate must have memories from it. The idea incorporates the use of the bar in the game more. I dont necessarily know what would work best but if the bar had action, im sure people would hang around there and talk. -Drinking: Taking a shot according to what you buy affects the user in a both positive and negative effect. I was thinking as an example, people would drink "red wine", which would make the user have to use the opposite key arrows to move normally.(to move up, you would press down, etc) It would be funny and fun, but it would let user become a little stronger in battle for a designated time, but make their accuracy fall. -Card table game of 2-4 players:People who want to play would gather around and bet money and cards would be given to each player out randomly. The game would consist of getting 21 as a total hand, where the winner goes accordingly. Both are just a thought but i am always seeing people running around and not hanging out in strange, unusual or isolated places, so i want them filled in! I remember seeing 55 people online, and even though they might consist of people being afk, away or alts, they must all be scattered or something!!! ;D ~InfiniteWisdom

well.. for drinking.. it's always all these negative effects
but alcohol also numbs you to pain.. and for most of you people who have had enough to experience... you wake up the next morning why parts of your body hurt.
so.. if drinks were to ever be available, i suggest that along with the funky controls, that players also get a huge defense boost, but when the alcohol wears off, the player's hp goes down to 1.

Hello! Just throwing it out there since variety adds to excitement. Just as we start from the 1st hunting grounds in our search for a mark, we also see it later on in SS. These quests can be seen rough and their end result is very well worth it. Some other side quests that should be implemented should however include the semi boss obstacle. That is to say, the vast area of Ruoze should be used so that while searching, as that fallen town in southwestern portion, would be a side quest who holds a little boss. It would be thrilling, it wouldnt be a major boss, but its the chaotics that surround the game. The boss could give little exp for all i care but give something else as essential such as gold or an item. The main thing i want to target is the land. It is vast, so make use of it where there is difference from training>talk to people in area> kill boss(repeat). I loved the fact that i got to see 2 marks in the game, but there could be more. I liked learning of the past of Voleron and its origin, but what is behind that, maybe something in IC since its so big?Maybe im not being specific on what can be implemented but its a thought so that ideas flow. ~InfiniteWisdom

First I want to clear up this post, since I've gotten quite good at reading wisdomspeak.
"I'm throwing this idea out since I like variety. You know how we have to fetch that mark in dainara, and have the option to get another one in ranook? Those are fun little quests that are worth the time. I want to see more sidequests. One good sidequest idea is the idea of mini bosses. For example, SS is this huge area with so little going on, it would be nice if you could bump into a powerful enemy that was something like a leader of the chaotics in his immediate area. He wouldn't be as strong or crafty as grygasz, but a lot tougher than the other enemies around. He wouldn't have to give tons of experience, just some gold or a nice item would do. The idea here is to use more of the huge map for some variety, instead of the stale grind grind grind >>> visit some special NPCs >>> kill boss >>> repeat. IC would be a good candidate for something since it's so huge and so empty. This post isn't very specific or concise, but it might get some creativity flowing.
~InfiniteWisdom "
With that taken care of, mini bosses and side quests have been suggested many times over. Side quests will happen in v8, mini bosses are debatable. That's the picture of events we get from rand's and others vague answers. I'd also like to say that there is no mark in ranook. The investigator's body is not altered in any way, shape, or form. The "LETS GO GET RANOOK MARK" comments are almost as overly frequent as the claims that kaug's troll buddies shove him forward. Stop the misinformation, people.

I noticed that too, Phoe. The problem is, people don't understand 'GY EXP' over WSay, so that's the only reason I call it a mark. Just like how the third floor of Cath is OBVIOUSLY superior to the fourth, but everyone trains at the fourth because they think that the harder to access or harder to buy makes it better.

I understand your point, but I've seen that the term mark breeds too much confusion, due to people correlating it with the mark at dainara. There have been many players who have assumed that you need this experience from ranook in order to progress with the game, telling me.others "I can't go to SS yet, I haven't gotten the mark" etc. etc.

Really? I've never seen that. Of course, it could be something concerning Rouze because you have to go to Anara first, which is almost as out of the way as the GY EXP. However, on the note of mini-bosses, I have two suggestions. One in Dainaria, not hard or anything, but you have to fight it to get the mark (or rather get to the clock) and it can't be fought multiple times. This could slow down the vast majority of power-leveling that occurs in Kreland. The second: One square below my Black Mage there should be the most ultimate ultimate enemy for the lulz. That, and that area is somewhere around the gravestone of Zathar, only above ground. No one would realize that's a boss square because who explores North Skyre? I bet only like 5 normal players know how to get there.

I fully expect to see mini-bosses, both in the "dungeon" type areas and in the field. It will spice things up a little, make it interesting, and give us side-quest potential. Also, the Ranook area IS another Mark. You'll learn more about it as we have time to add to things. Dainaria is one of the places I've wanted to put something in anyway. And a few other choice spots. And Southern Skyre has long been in my sights for expansion and enriching.

So there is always some background information on the different alliances from the game on the website, mainly outlining the four kingdoms but what of the others? I am just wondering and hoping that for V8 there will be more information provided as to what role the brotherhood plays in the game instead of it being a mysterious alliance o.0. I have heard that this sort of thing will be implemented and was just wondering if it would be in V8. Since the info on the four kingdoms is only on Dainan, Lirea, Hassen, and Anara, i was also hoping to get details for the other ones such as the followers or pirates which are part of the game. And since some alliances dont have houses , there could always be an addition of one for them =). Such as a pirate ship for the pirates, and i think mona is for the followers so nvm on those, and for those that dont swear to anyone, how about a couple of random teepes with people in there selling or helping. Even those that dont pick a house want some love ~InfiniteWisdom

if i recall correctly, the origins of the brotherhood would be revealed to us in the Skyre 2, the sequel to THG.

Pirates and such arent listed along with the Four Kingdoms because they arent The Four Kingdoms. Kinda self-explanatory. I HAVE wanted to do something for Pirates, though. It's still kind of up in the air at this point.

Hello! Im sure we all love to kill the monsters of the chaotics but i love the little critters and this is where my idea originated. Since we kill monsters, i thought that as you progress in the game you would obtain means by which you can get an "outfit". By outfit, i refer to dressing up as one of the monsters by what you bought, found, or task performed for the special outfit that enables you to wear it. It would be cool to be wearing or appearing as a monster and battling other monsters so thats just a suggestion. This suggestion can also be considered for a special event or holiday such as Halloween. Other than that, i am done for suggestions for now so take care! ~InfiniteWisdom

Well, with wisdom's idea in mind...
I had thought of this earlier, but I have yet to work out all the stat gains and spell/skill list etc. for this class.
I had an idea for a Doppelganger or a "morpher" etc. where a person transforms into a monster and gains their abilities (if they did have any unique chaotic abilities (Similar to a ranger, but different). The stat gains when you transform into a monster would need to set in such a way that you aren't overpowered or underpowered by the transformation and I have yet to think of a way where this can implemented.
As for the class name I decided on a Mimic. Similar to rangers, Mimics usually live in the wilderness and tend to mimic other animals /monsters etc. Thats really about it for now.

Plain and simple, byond is open to like every continent in the world and i have seen people come and go from different nationalities. My suggestion is to add a International channel for people to go exclusively to so they can talk to other people who might know their language and they can talk freely without having to get in trouble. Just like today, people have came to THG before knowing how to speak spanish, portuguese, dutch, or french and they ask for help. I can only tell them that they cant talk in wsay in other languages but if they had a way to talk, they would feel better. I am open to helping people out but i dont know how to talk in every language yet. A suggestion so that we can support and strengthen the cultural diversity of the US where byond can also have different languages without having it being a problem. Thanks =D ~InfiniteWisdom PS: I will continue to help those that do not speak english well, or at all, so that they can try to play the game also.

Not a bad idea, but that would require a moderator who knows the language(s) well enough to speak it fluently, in case there were tons of foreign language-speaking people.

Post by Takahashi on Apr 7, 2008 14:33:44 GMT -6
That'd be the major hurdle, yes. We've a great deal of 'moderators' that can be fairly sure no one is cussing up a storm and being a nuisance in American, British and Australian English (possibly other branches as well). That's not the case with all other languages like French, Spanish or German. That lack of fluent BH members is the primary reason why the rule is in place.

mostly due to me being lazy but....
it seems that a lot of people do not like leading at all in this game. I'm one of them but you busters join my party anyway.
i was thinking that since party leaders must be the most attentive with the game, seeing as how they can't alt+tab tp other windows while leading parties to places, i was thinking that parties with 3 or more people, the leader gets a 5% exp reward for each battle. that way, duoers won't benefit from this gain, and further encourage more people to step and lead
yay or nay?

YAY!!!! Go Jumin, Go Jumin Its a fun idea and of course my every day leadership qualities will be rewarded! W00t! Of course, will there be a revolutionary trend where more people will want to be leader? Strange but heh who knows? Wait a min... if only the leader gets boost, imma have to keep on changing leader to my alt!!! n000! hahaha yay unbalanced exp ^_^ (Edited by Rand, don't double post.) Since the tent upgrade thing was locked, this post kinda weaves into that idea. We all start with the raggedy looking tent, but as we progress and we want a lil bit better resting method, we can buy a better suited tent. That would go along with what your alliance is (hope there can be diversity) Even if there are 2 diff types of looking tents you can buy, its all for the better This would be understandable since you wouldnt start with the best tent looking thing in the world, and the recovering doesnt have to be that much different but it would need to be better but yea thats it! ~InfiniteWisdom

A large majority of people choose to go with no alliance, and thus we see multiple copies of the same icons very often - with no one choosing from Pirates, Lireans, Dainans, Anarans, and Followers except for an occasional few characters. Everyone else goes with no alliance or the Hassites, so I thought there could be a few penalties or rewards depending on who you choose:
Hassites: -Inability to see color. (Color-blind)
Lireans: -Money gained is partially donated the Stronghold of the Rebels of Lirea (considering they are, after all, the poorest.) -Takes fewer Criticals.
Dainans: -Giving gold to a Dainan is penalizing. (They believe that they should hold their own end in times of struggle.) Vice versa applies. -Higher HIT rate. (As in, rounded up amount of HITs.)
Anarans: -Less EXP for a more uniform party. (I.E. if 6 are Dainans and 2 Anarans, the Anarans are penalized slightly: they believe that they should unite all the people of Darlow.) -Counter-actively, the more diverse the more EXP.
Pirates: -Must pay gold to enter a Kingdom. -Gains slightly more gold from Chaotics.
Followers: -Their faith in Nexus makes them more susceptible to Critical hits, for their lack of initiative. -More likely to resist ailments.
-
Those who have no alliance have nothing to pay nor to recieve, and are plain jane as in the game now.

Following that idea, it would be nice to see Fighters that have Leadership be rewarded by using Leadership in battle with a small bonus or an additional beneficial status effect etc. After all, Fighters seem like good candidates for leading a party.

Sur Realis had a great idea, of course these will have to be little numbers. Mainly because some of those advantages can be a big advantage in the long run. Hassites being color-blind will make new ppl to the game think this game is color-less and leave . The tent idea was great,, and since many ppl are over-loaded with cash, why not have a tent store ;D. And, the leader exp bonus was good too, shouldn't apply for boss battles tho if possible. I know this will be a bit of work, but lets say at the player's home town (a anarian at anara), theres a wears shop for them, for example: a new helm that will actually show a different color, or a new looking helm period. All not making any stat change whatsoever, but allittle variety for those who work for the cash to afford this option. There should be a universal store at Tote. Then again once i think about it, the color choices should be limited, so you can still tell the ppl's race. And this option should cost a TON, like 200k each. That can give ppl another reason not to just own bosses. With a bunch of hassen players around, this way Ppl can have there own thing going. Instead of clones running around.

Hassites ARE color-blind. It's part of Darlow's history. Their adaption to the colorless Ice Caverns caused them to lose the ability to percieve colors. And, besides, the best way to get someone to understand what they are doing by choosing a certain House would have them type something, similar to DELETE. The only reason everyone picks Hassites because they look like bad-ass emos. Ironically, they are the most peaceful of all the Houses, too.

Not entirely, because it currently already does that. My idea was that if you lead, it may occasionally act like a shield for the entire party (or just the leader) in addition to the boost etc. Or just some small bonus like 5% additional exp gain or gold etc. Or it could something else that I haven't thought of which is why I didn't really go into detail.
