www.byond.com/members/?&command=view_post&post=55026The new version of byond has the ability to track achievements and let it be displayed on the hub, or something to that effect. It's able to keep track of wins and losses or highest level and whatever else you can achieve I, for one, would like to see this put in THG just to keep track of different aspects of the game and would be interesting to see what could be accomplished. i.e. an achievement could be unlocked if we have talked to every NPC (like Bolt did )

Your level within the game already says most of the things done in this game atm. Other than npc talking, or insane over leveling before a certain boss, what else might there be for now Jumin? Maybe with side quests, especially if we get some difficult ones (and not just fighting, either. How about some puzzle and mazey ones or something?), I could see this adding a non story aspect to the game outside of grinding which could be cool.

An achievement for highest average level of all characters on a key probably wouldn't be too bad. The empty slots count as 0s, so it's pretty fair game for anyone that plays this game much.

Something like this sounds great, Having plenty of achievements like reach so much HP with a fighter, or hit so much damage with a sertain spell with a blue mage, seems like itll really drive people to play more or atleast with diffrent characters. Also something thats shows highest hp reached by a ranger ect. seems to me like itll encourage newcomers of whats ahead at tote, even though it sounds like a bit of a spoiler. It'll give them a better view of what build they want to have and what sertain classes can achieve, other than picking numbers and hoping for the best in the end, I don't think as many will be dissapointed with there build; get angry and start over. But on the other hand that might make us see, "I'm never gunna to beat that!", on wsay. XD

But at the same time, goals on stats, 'Achieved: reaching ___ hp on a bm' just doesn't sound right, and I bet wouldn't work right either.
Another game I play has something like this, only it grants rewards like experience and practices (for skills), and it's not about like.. gaining the most hp.
You possess the following Marks: Honor Orienteering Wisdom Youth A total of 4 Marks.
Honor was simple, guard the jail while two weak Sidhe npcs come and attack you.
Orienteering was from running items from specific npcs to another, with low stamina through high-stamina taking forests.
Wisdom was from navigating an obelisk puzzle.
And youth was from completing a trial that consisted of gathering 2 leaves which granted you passage to a dragon's cave, grabbing the third leaf from in there while the dragon attacks and attempts to kill you (it's a badass, mind you. I've only see it killed twice over several years, and both took specifically built characters), and then running those three leaves to some mage of sorts who teleports you to a one-on-one fight you have to win.
This is more of the stuff I had meant. Albeit, these are just newbie things.. as I'm only level 7/7 out of 61/241 >.>, with 4 marks out of.. I think they're up to 140 now..
Another fun one is Terror. Being level 180 or lower, and kill a level 400 npc (at least get the last hit, not specifically solo it), WHILE it's in a cpk room, which means when you die, all your stuff is on your corpse for the taking while you wait 10 minutes in a dead void to be reincarnate. That one's a bloody hell and a half since there's a bunch of jerks, and it's a player killing room (only in specific rooms can players attack other players).
Ok.. Well, it seems my character from about 593 days ago hasn't been deleted oddly.. So here's a more full list. Shame I don't remember just about what any of them mean anymore...
You possess the following Marks: Adventure Assistance Association Bravery Charisma Community Conformity Darkness Discovery Dragon Faith Fire Gloom Greed Honor Illusion Judgment Passion Patience Secrets Solutions Tithing Trespassing Truth War Wealth Wisdom Wonder Youth A total of 29 Marks.

This is the problem. Those require side quests. To put it simply, and so as not to insult anyone or take any sides, THG is very unlikely to have side quests for a good while. If ever.

Naw, not all of them do, actually. Secrets for instance. You just walk into a room with an npc, a king's mistress, and nod when she asks you not to tell anyone. Could make an achievement of, like.. boosting moral. Talk to two certain npcs in dainan castle, give them the right answer, viola. Moral for dainan, lirea, anara, hassen, and tote. Five easy achievements right there. Naturally, there'll be an ok answer, and a bad answer. Ok gives you nothing, bad does like an anti-achievement if they give bonuses. Or just a bad one and a good one, bad one gives you nothing. And it's a one-time deal.

Oh come on this could really work. I would love to see people have titles on who like "most likely to die first in an ambush" or "luckiest runner of the day" or "soloed a boss within reasonable levels" or "loves to kill such and such monster".
Obviously it would be a lot of work to have the game take in this info and someone deciding what to put on people but it would be hilarious to see what's been going on that day without having to listen to the grapevine. Oh well that's my 2 cents.

This doesnt seem like a bad idea.
"Congratulations, you have soloed (x.amount) amount of boss battles as a (x.classtype)!!" (That reminds me of Final Fantasy I soloing for some reason)
Overall, it would add more into different classes, some can be character-specific, some can be for all classes, and some for a certain level. Character-Specific's are probably the most valued part, cause it'll make people experiment on other classes.
