Half of this is a rant directed at Blazer who -edited-
The other half is (hopefully) to invoke a discussion about what classes have it too hard as compared to others at Level 1 - something that can be a huge problem for some classes, (COUGHBLUEMAGECOUGH).
What inspired this thread:
<HealsAreUs (Wsay) >: this game is definately not user friendly to lvl 1s
<Golden_Blazer (Wsay) >: ..
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: Nope.
<Golden_Blazer (Wsay) >: all classes suck at lvl 1
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: Nuh uh.
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: ..
<Jeymes Samuel (Wsay) >: That's why you have the mark to jump you to level 2
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: Black Mages do fine at level 1
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: Rofl
<Azure Grimoire (Wsay) >: Yu huh
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: no they dont <_<
<Jeymes Samuel (Wsay) >: Yes we do
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: ..
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: Yes they do. They can single handedly solo the shit out of the place.
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: ..
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: at lvl 1?
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: no
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: Fighters can too if you get the right equipment
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: no they cant
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: Yes, at Level 1.
<Jeymes Samuel (Wsay) >: As long as we don't try that area casting crap
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: They can one-hit Rats and Imps
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: outta all my bm's ive made
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: ive never been able to 1 hit at lvl 1
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: so plz
<Sur Realis (Wsay) >: MAYBE IT'S PROOF YOU SUCK AT THG THEN
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: Rofl says the fail theif that just died
TL;DR Blazer thinks that Black Mages do not have an easy time soloing at Level 1. So, to disprove him:
REALIS BLACKMAGE the Blackmage has come to our world. May Nexus bring them to the holy light.
This is where I show proof that Black Mages annihilate all the low level things in Kreland.
THE OGRE:
Entering the Hunting Grounds - Region of South Kreland
* REALIS BLACKMAGE - Fire 1 >> Ogre(1) --- 19 DMG.
* Ogre(1) >> REALIS BLACKMAGE --- 11 DMG
* REALIS BLACKMAGE - Fire 1 >> Ogre(1) --- 25 DMG.
* Ogre(1) >> REALIS BLACKMAGE --- MISSED
* REALIS BLACKMAGE - Fire 1 >> Ogre(1) --- 23 DMG.
Gained EXP: 6
Found GOLD: 7
In this, we can note two things:
(1) At Level 1, Black Mages have a MAX DAMAGE of 25 on their spells, and a MIN DAMAGE of 15. What this means is that Black Mages have a healthy shot at killing Ogres in two hits, and it is guaranteed that they can kill them in three hits.
(2) Black Mages always go before Ogres. This means that to kill an Ogre then they only have to take AT MOST TWO HITS. Since the Black Mage starts with 30 HP, taking to 11 DMG shots in the above scenario would have been A-OK.
Not to mention the fact I didn't buy this Black Mage an armor or a weapon.
THE IMP, THE GIANT RAT:
It is GUARANTEED that the Black Mage can ONE-HIT the two most common low-level enemies - Giant Rats and Imps. In addition to this, they ALWAYS GO BEFORE IMPS and CONSISTENTLY BEFORE RATS - possibly always.
THE NORMAL BATTLES:
* REALIS BLACKMAGE - Fire 1 >> Ogre(1) --- 18 DMG.
* Imp(2) >> REALIS BLACKMAGE --- MISSED
* Ogre(1) >> REALIS BLACKMAGE --- MISSED
* REALIS BLACKMAGE - Fire 1 >> Ogre(1) --- 25 DMG.
* Imp(2) >> REALIS BLACKMAGE --- MISSED
* Ogre(1) >> REALIS BLACKMAGE --- 15 DMG
*SLAM HIT
* REALIS BLACKMAGE - Fire 1 >> Imp(2) --- 8 DMG.
>> Ogre(1) --- 10 DMG.
* Imp(2) >> REALIS BLACKMAGE --- 10 DMG
* REALIS BLACKMAGE - Fire 1 >> Imp(2) --- 25 DMG.
Gained EXP: 7
Found GOLD: 9
Here I have shown that it is VERY POSSIBLE for a Black Mage to solo a common battle - consisting of an Ogre and an Imp. As you can notice near the end I had the ability to cast an AoE to hit both enemies at first - but did I?
No. I went for the Ogre first because his hits land the worst. But BECAUSE I couldn't kill him in two hits, I combined his death with an area spell in an attempt to take out the Imp, as well. I knew that the Ogre would die from the AoE, and it was a very possible chance I could have taken out the Imp, minimizing the damage I taken.
However, that wasn't the case so I just nuked it the next round.
THE FOREST IMP:
As you can see, Black Mages can STILL one-hit enemies, this one being the Forest Imp, but they no longer have the advantage of going first. Obviously the forest is a horrible place to train at Level 1, but my point is that Black Mages can have the first few levels SPOONFED to them.
THE WOLF:
They can even one-hit Wolves! Of course the Wolf goes before them and can land nasty hits, but the fact remains that the Black Mages have powerful, guaranteed shots. Whereas the melee classes have the chance of bumbling and missing, the Black Mages... just wipe the floor with enemies!
THE SKELETON, THE GHOUL:
Three battles here. The first shows that Skeletons too can be one-hit, except they can go first. The second shows that Ghouls can be one-hit, and that Black Mages can go first. And the third shows Black Mages can go first against Skeletons too.
DUDE, THAT'S A MUD TROLL
So a Mud Troll pops up, having some... 80 HP, correct? Would take roughly four-five hits to take one out.
Instead, like a smart player, I haul ass.
Wanna know how it rewarded me?
I have shown very acceptable proof that Black Mages have it very easy - and with a bit of luck, can easily make it to Level 3 in a little under 15 minutes, and in about 10 battles.
And Blazer's response?
<Blue_blazer101 (Wsay) >: your still trash realis
Quit complaining about Level Ones. It's not that hard, and it does not require being spoonfed for 7 levels.
