only because of nintendo fan boys... actually.. that's pretty hardcore for it to be that many, but really... that's because parents think they're the same thing and won't shell out the extra money and jump for the psp.
I like PSP.. because im a sony fanboy. lol

Basically Nintendo wins with hand-helds, now consoles that remains to be seen.
I feel good about Nintendo this console war though.
Like I said in game, if they get some of the good Sega CD games on the download service,(SHINING FORCE CD PLEASE!) I'm sold.

My friends and I have been sayin the same thing, heck my school says the same thing, if Nintendo doesn't come out with a system that plays DVDs, they're out of the run for top gaming company. Nintendo is like on what system now, their 9th or 10th system now, where sony is on their 2nd/3rd system and they already can play DVDs, Microsoft has backup items if Xbox fails. So does sony

System or Console Bolt?
nes, snes, n64, gcn, gameboy, gameboy pocket, gameboy color, virtual boy, advance, gbasp, ds, gameboy micro.
I see 13 off the top of my head if you count all those.

if you're a gamer, it shouldnt matter about the DVD part of things, Nintendo knows what they are doing when it comes to CONSOLE AND GAME making....not DVD playing...that's all everyone ever worries about, that and Graphics...Graphics could be 8-bit and look horrible as long as the game play is good that's all you should need, if you are just someone who plays games for graphics....go kill yourself..now..and i'm not joking...as well, Nintendo knows what it's doing when it comes down to gameplay so what, they don't have specialized DVDs for their hand-helds. big fuckin deal. Consoles and Hand-helds are made for the GAMES not the MEDIA. That is all.

At start: PSP >>>>> DS Games like Nintendogs didn't really sound that great to me, and why play Twisted Metal on the PS1 when you can play it for a few hours and for $40 (plus the $250 for the system) at school? Now that they've settled in, I have taken some more thought into it and relized PSP > DS. This is mainly because I have played Untold Legends (pretty much Boulder's Gate) and although Fire Emblem is a very good game, and both systems have quality games, I prefer the PSP. (Now I need to double-check to make sure this is a Kija quality post. ;D)

lolololololololololol you claim nintendo is making quality games? just look at the mario franchise....i dont need to say more
the only good franchise i can think up for nintendo is the zelda series. but really, how many times can you go out and save a princess because she was stupid enough to let ganandorf steal her? graphics may change, but in the end thats all it really is.
mario....boy he really got out of hand. mario DDR? wtf is that about? mario golf? sounds to me that nintendo is just trying to put a lame clone on a game thats on Playstation, games that people enjoyed but are old and needed a new twist (just look at when mario DDR came out compared to the ps DDR).
just face facts, nintendo is running out of good ideas and really doesnt stand a chance in the gaming world, handheld or otherwise. nintendogs? wtf where they on when they thought that up? a lame Dogz or Catz clone?
psp isnt all about graphics, its basically a multimedia center you can carry in your pocket. whats the DS got? 2 screens and some buttons. psp has more versatility when it comes to media, which is why people are more drawn to buy that vs the DS.

yet...DS sales pwn PSP sales? not making sense in my head, as well, Nintendogs is supposed to be amazingly good, now, Mario DDR, to me, is just hilarious, and the Mario franchise isn't totally horrible. Mario Party is actually a good game, along with other Mario games....Mario Golf? never really cared much about golf...and Zelda, yea, storyline is kinda simplsitic when you scrutinize it like that, but the gameplay is good.

again? i only posted on this thread once. did you miss the part where i said nintendo's games are becoming clones of older one-hit wonders? who wants to play a game thats used up? they don't even bother to change the graphics. honestly, playing an 8-bit game, set in a similar world, with a similar story will get boring no matter who makes it. at least sony is doing something different each time around: making the graphics better. nintendo is sticking with the blocky cartoonish look, and that's getting old.
i'm not a graphics whore (hell, i think castle of the winds is an awesome game. look it up to see what i mean), but when you throw out the same games twice with little to no improvement on some aspect, you will lose out on a lot of fans. at least sony is starting to change the way people see handhelds because they are giving it more options, which is something we haven't really seen before

But everyone re-uses games, how many GTAs we gonna have? there will be up to atleast 3 Halos, how many The Sims will there be? everyone reuses things, as well, Zelda got captured in about 3-4 games, and there are almost 10 Zelda games, so no, she doesnt always get captured. =/

So are we still discussing Handhelds or consoles (and the companies that own them) and their takes on games? Anyways it was mentioned earlier that playing the same game again over and over is boring and bland and that saving the princess gets boring and such. Well for Zelda it's rather differnent. Think about it, how many games out there where you save someone at some point? In Zelda it just has the same concepts such as the boy in the green tunic and his pointy elf ears saving a princess. Everything inbetween becomes different with every game, well some more than others but no point in deliving too deep into that.
Personally I prefer DS over PSP because psp is extremely expensive compared to the DS. I'd rather not pay alot of money for a 100gig stick, the handheld itself, maybe a movie or two, and hey lets not forget the game the whole purpose (maybe) of it. It's cool that its multimedia, but the price is really high, I'm happy with my ipod for songs (and video for the lucky owners of the newest versions) and my DS for handheld games. Plus alot of the games on psp are ps1, so I've either already bought them or they didn't appeal to me the first time around, being able to play gta on the go isn't too thrilling for me, not that the franchise ever was but oh well. /end long post
