Going by what I've seen lately, and al the various complaints I've heard, here's some things I think y'all need to keep in mind.
1. Everyone was a newbie once. Someone asking a question does not give you the right to be an asshole. Doing so gives me the right to be one to you with my Boot button, and don't think I'm shy with it either.
2. Spamming with bloody annoying smiley faces is old, repetitive, aggravating, and most importantly, against the rules. If you can't follow those rules, I will boot. If you repeatedly can't follow them, I will jail. If you can't follow them AND insult fellow players who are only trying to keep you out of trouble, I will go straight to jail, and then a few-days ban.
3. If, for some reason, one of the Brotherhood gets on to you for something and it isn't word-for-word written in stone as a direct Rule, don't sit there and argue it with us while holding on to your Internet Lawyer doctorate. We've been here longer than you, often as not, and we know what's acceptable and what's not. If you don't like how we try to keep this community, no one's forcing you to stay. We'd love you to, but if you won't be a team player you can go play solitaire.
4. Respect goes a long way, and if you don't show it to other people, don't expect to have it returned. It tends to get you outcasted pretty quickly, and usually draws MY attention too. Half the people I'm forced to deal with are idiots who think their god-given right to not know proper grammar ( AT ALL) means they can sit around and call me an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing. You want to give over entire nights of your life to making a game, figure formulas, create story ideas from scratch, create classes, create spells and skills and balances FOR those, and pay for a Ventrilo server that no one uses after they get it, feel free to grab a robe and be Rand.
Thank you, and have a nice day, from your local Common Sense Committee.
