If it is spelled 'Byond', where does the sound 'beyond' come from? There's no 'e' in Byond, and doesnt 'By' sound like 'Buy' and 'on' sound like 'on' and so on and so forth? Thats why i always thought of it as 'buy-on-d'.

Because in a way it's meant to imply. Such as...going BEYOND what you may think is possible for something. or pushing BEYOND your normal scope of imagination. You dig?

Yeah I understand that part, but it sounds nothing like what it look like. It's simple English dude. If you don't know how to pronounce things, take it one step at a time. BYOND. B. YON. D. Buh. Yon. Duh. Buhyond. Beyond. Besides, when a lack of vowels is present (lol) it is more commonly accepted to imply a vowel rather than have a consonant substitute a vowel. Like Rdy. D doesn't substitute a vowel, so there's an implied vowel either infront of R or between R and D, which leads to pretty similar sounds no matter what. Ardy, Ridy, Redy. (It is actually pronounced Rye, but I still don't understand why.)

b-yond, I always imagined, if you are to say it like a word. There would need to be a pause of some sort, a syllable if you would, between the B and the Y for it to be pronounced beyond, wouldn't it? So.. I suppose I've always said it as one solid syllable word. B-yawned for the sound.

Quoted for truth. Anyone who says otherwise needs to stop butchering the English language.
