Thread Necromancy. One of the most looked down upon actions a poster can do. Its been 3 months since anyone has posted in thread A. Then someone comes along reads through thread and posts the following "Good idea" and leaves it at that. The masses cry out "THREAD NECROMANCER! Kill it!" then the mods give a warning and lock the thread. Case in point: ffhg.proboards33.com/index.cgi?board=Suggestions&action=display&thread=1194970898I agree with about 90% of the above. I however do disagree with a thread being lock for Necromancy for the following reasons. I feel that if someone has something new to bring to a previous discussion they should be able to bring up the old one and post in that thread. Why? Because if they create a new one people will jump down their throats about how Subject C has already been talked about [followed by a link posted to prove your ineptitude]. For example, in the previously linked thread I wanted to add some suggestions, I can't because the thread is locked and even if it weren't I'd be flamed as a Thread Necromancer and it would get locked anyway. I think threads should only be locked if a flame war is developing or the thread itself is or is becoming very offensive. So I humbly ask that threads are not locked when they are necromanced and warnings only given to people who do not shed new or different light on the topic presented throughout the thread.

i agree with kyou. Seeing as how our community was a bit small to begin with, i thought that the thread necromancy rule wouldn't be so frowned upon.

I have to agree as well. While I can't remember off-hand any specific examples, there have been times in the past where a thread was necromanced, and I would have loved nothing more than for the thread to be unlocked so I could respond to whatever was said. A couple good discussions could possibly have been sparked in the past if not for that.

I also agree. I did not know myself that more important threads were being locked. I could understand in situations where the thread was a minor annoucement where people would not be able to really give more information anyways. But for something like a suggestion thread, that should always be left open.
