In some previous thread, someone stated(I believe it was Kija, plz GOD don't ban me again if I am wrong) that "we are trying to move away from the Final Fantasy label/title/etc" Well, I have a couple of suggestions that could help this movement.
See how mages get the option of what magic they use, we could apply this theory to Knights in somep erspective, maybe even Fighters and Dragoons.

Sword Knight - Above average hit rate, average strength
Ax Knight - Below Average hit rate, Above Average strength
Spear Knight - Average hit rate, Average strength
Now, we are not limiting the knights invetory, but an Ax Knight would be able to use Exclusive Axes, such as the one at Tote(Atlas Axe), while a Sword Knight could not, also a bonus could be given to the Ax Knight, like an additional hit with axes, and a +5% power boost with the ax, maybe a power deductive when the Ax Knight tries to use a spear or sword. The Ax Knight would be the hardest hitter, the Sword Knight would be the most accurate, an extra hit while using the sword, and the spear knight would be the avarage joe, there will be specialized spears for the lance knight

Sword Dragoon - Below Average Jump, area jump(Sky Tech)
Spear Dragoon - Average Jump, reg jump(Sky Fighting)
Polearm Dragoon - Above Average Jump, hard jump(Sky Hammering)
In this case, lets say the bonus a Sword Dragoon gets from jump would be like 45% but he would get like Sleak Jump(puree/ice), maybe Splice Jump a skill that halves the HP(render/demi), and more ground skills (Slip Strike would grant a power bonus) more status effects, and they would be limited to specialized swords only(Dragoon build swords, God knows Dragoons would be way overpowered using Knight's swords) and they probably would not learn Free Flying, the spear would be the regular 75% jump boost and the same skills that we have now and they are limited to spears and few polearms, the polearm dragoon would be limited only to polearms, have access to some axes, gain an extra hit on the polearm, and hard a whole different type of sky fighting(I called it Sky Hammering, but I am sure someone has a better idea) Their skills would cost more MP but would be stronger, for example at lvl 20 instead of learning Dive(150% boost) they would learn Crash - 4 MP 175% boost, and instead of Crush at lvl 48(200% boost) They would learn Hammer - 5MP(230% boost)
