1) Allows the BB to be able to wear rings and bracers. Im sure they both take the same slot but the added def would be good.
2) Make rangers less magic and more combat. With one less hybrid the Red mage can be worked to be the only true hybrid and from there fix tweaks you made to balances those two out.
I wasnt sure where the 1st suggestion went, thread wise.

Rangers are already heavily melee as it is, and they've had magic taken from them in earlier versions (they used to be able to choose from getting either a healthy amount of white magic or a mix of black and white magic that actually made them more versatile than a Red Mage). As it stands, Rangers get:
- Antidote - Barrier 1 - Boost 1 - Cure 1/2 - Drain 1 - Ice 1/2 - Life 1 - Lock 1 - Peep - Slow 1/2
Out of those, Cure 2, Ice 2, Life 1 and Slow 2 are the only ones that'd be of good use by the late game. Even then, two of them require that you pay attention to your willpower in order to make them worthwhile by that point (Cure 2, Ice 2). Considering that you can't cast spells while transformed, it doesn't seem like Rangers need their magic options reduced any more than they already have been; magic-wise they're a poor man's Red Mage, really.

or a lazy-mans redmage...Redmages are already the more hybrid of the two...Rangers are just Meleer's who like a little spice in their life
