I think it'd be interesting to have the option to buy rings that enhance different attributes besides defense. This would help to further customize your character, as well as give them a slight edge in a particular attribute. I wouldn't suggest they add an enormous amount, perhaps less than the defense ones add now.
I've only been playing a week or so, and this is the only suggestion I can think of so far. I thought of it for two reasons. 1) Every other armor selection raises defense. 2) Defense isn't quite as important to my thief as agility.

It could work, but why? That's what bonus attribute points are for.

Well you're right, but I figure some classes would rather have a little boost to an attribute instead of defense. Such as mages wanting a bit more MP, or BBs wanting more strength. Although this may make things a bit unbalanced. I don't know, just a thought. It wouldn't make much a difference if it where added or not.

There might be a change or two along these lines, but as of right now I don't see it happening with equipment. Not to say it won't, but as of right now it's not planned.

I figure this shouldn't count as thread necromancy, but I have an idea along the same lines as the initial post. Accessories. They wouldn't necessarily have to be attribute boosters. Give things like increased counter chances, paralysis resistance, etc. It would make things more interesting, and also provide more depth of character customization.

Not necessary. If ya want resistance to statuses, use a Red or Bluemage. There's seriously going to be enough item clutter in the coding as it is...

It's a version expansion. What'd ya expect? Cookies and cuddles and sunshine without new toys of which to smash things?

I won't add much, but I suspect that Dragoons and Thieves will be happy with the item 'clutter' in v8.

Oh joy. Goons already have trouble deciding between the Grand Pike and the Halberd. What're you gonna do, give them more choices, and then put Thieves in the same boat? <_<

I hope they're finally fixing Spears. Maybe he means Dragoons and Thieves can THROW things ... or use decoys!

Well for Thieves, let's just say that they won't be one trick ponies weapon-wise any more. For Dragoons, they'll have reasons to stay grounded aside from new abilities (and improvements to one much-maligned existing ability, but that's a different subject).
As far as spears are concerned, their primary weakness will be dealt with.
