heres some ideas
permadent will allways activate when possible you dont need to use it
knight/dragoon:max armor - raises users total defence by 20% of total that their defence is every turn their defence drops by 1% of their total(or it could be 2%) untill its normal
or permadent it goes to 110% of your total then drops slowly to 100%
blackbelt/fighter: hang on - after using(only works during the same battle) if a attack would finish the user off and the user has more then 1 hp their hp is reduced to 1
this would be useful combined with healing
this could also be permadent
white mage/red mage: emergency heal - after use if the user drops below 1/10th HP they recover 10-20% of their total hp (1 heal per use)
or a permadent for 1/20th recovery you cant recover more then 1 time per turn
black mage/blue mage: magic pain reverser - after use if the user dies the opponent who killed the user takes the same ammount of damage x5(x3 if you want) (or you could add in they chose to do area damage for x3( or x1))
maybe the lower ammounts for permadent versions
theif/ranger: super dodge - increases chance of opponents attack missing by 10%
or a permadent

Max Armor--- Not necessary. Knights are fine Defense wise, and Goons have insane ways to dodge attacks if they're even on the ground.
Hang On--- Sounds like a move typical to a lot of RPGs. Not really needed in this case.
Emergency Heal--- Unnecessary way of staying alive longer than perhaps you should.
Magic Pain Reverser-- Reflect taken to a whole new level, and x5? If that were a critical...
Nice of you to offer advice for new things, but these just plain don't fit, bub.

Permadent sounds like a cement based denture adhesive. I like your idea for increasing the dodge percentage for thieves though. ;D

permadent, allways, defence?
permadent sounds like a negative skill that permanently affects you with constant criticals against you.
Hang on doesn't make much sense since when a monster finishes you off you always have more than 1 hp.
Giving a mage a spell and limiting them to one time usage is pretty useless.
Magic pain reverser? Sounds heavily overpowered and would simply be cheated with a whitemage casting life when fighting bosses.

Yeah, pretty much all of those are a little off.
- A free 20% boost to defense that would apply to either a class that already is far and away the best when it comes to defense or one that rarely stays grounded when it comes to ensuring their survival? Unnecessary in either case.
- A Fighter/BB ability that amounts to Life 3 in most cases, requiring that a monster kills the target twice before a healer can get the nearly dead partymember past 1 HP (in which case they've got Life 3 again)? Maybe if it could only trigger once per fight, or if it would only trigger some of the times that the target would die but be able to activate multiple times in a fight.
- The emergency heal just doesn't fit in all that well. It's almost like Life 3, except it doesn't restore as much health and doesn't require that the target be dead. It also seems like sort of a crutch in terms of getting sloppy in a fight or running into bad luck; this would give you a little breathing room to try and recover from the misfortune.
- The Revenge-esque skill is a little strange as well, and doesn't fit in with Black Mage as well as it does with Blue Mage. I'm not sure if it's worth the gamble of hoping that a monster absolutely pegs you in order to do obscene damage in return (whether focused or spread out over an area).
- Super Dodge is unnecessary. Both classes already get notable evasion naturally, as well as skills that can further boost their ability to avoid damage. It's along the same lines as the Max Armor skill in regards to Knights, really.

First off, there's already a new skills thread, granted it's got 209384 million pages, but hey, shows you something, lots of ideas have put in. Second off, Kija wouldn't save your ass if he agreed that these ideas are a bit, oh, unrealistic? x5 damage? thats nuts.. Third, not all BH members are hard asses who deny everything, by submitting your ideas publicly on the internet you automatically open yourself to the slaughter of the community to which you suggest said skills to, expect for people to say Great job, say that they're not neccesary, and for flat out No's. it's live.

Aww, of all the members you got me. Seeing as I'm the guy who decides initially what goes and stays and what form it takes, that's kinda how the system works. Don't go crying to another member of the Brotherhood just because one or two shot you down. The ideas do not fit and are rejected. Accept it. And, do not make multiple threads for something already in existence. This is yer only warning, mate.
Signed, the Official Stathead of The Brotherhood.
