What with the change to melee classes no longer showing (having?) a Willpower stat, a few things have come to light. Now, Knights and Thieves have the best overall stat growth out of the melee classes (3/3/3/2 and 2/2/4/3), with Fighter and Dragoon being a point behind (3/2/3/2 and 2/2/3/3, respectively). Fighters make up for it by having the greatest HP growth of any class, but Dragoons have slightly better HP growth than a Knight with far worse defensive abilities.
Early on that's not an issue, since Jump is rather favorable to Dragoons, making a few stat points trivial. As a Knight and Dragoon start to gain levels though, that 'missing' stat point starts to add up. By ToTE, the Knight has forty to fifty more stat points, and all the Dragoon has to show for it is slightly better max HP (where as the Fighter has significantly better max HP to show for being 40-50 stat points in the hole).
I'm left to wonder if maybe something's a little off with the stat system, now that Willpower is no longer factored in for these four melee classes.
