For those that were on at the time, you may noticed Erb and Parpello on under two different addresses, as he was evidently sharing or had given away the key. This happens a lot and itself it not really bad. However, Parpello has now recently contacted me pretending to be Erb asking for the host files, attempting to use the trust I have with him in order to get them. Unfortunately, he found out that I do not trust Erb just enough for that to happen anyways.
I was lead to believe that it was not Erb at the time for several reasons. Firstly, I already knew he was key sharing. Secondly, the person speaking did not sound like Erb at all. I have not known Erb to be the type of person to forget that we never give out the files. Thirdly, he was under the exact same IP address the person who was sharing it last time.
Impersonation is a bad thing. It is one of the reasons why even in MSN, you should always check the email header, just incase someone stole your friend's nickname and avatar who had previously asked to add you. At the moment, I had just played along and just not give him the files under the assumption that he was actually Erb. I did not want to say anything that may hurt Erb's chance of getting his key back. I then emailed the real Erb explaining the situation, allowing him the chance to get his key back and talk to his friend. Once Erb gives me a reply, we can then take any neccesary action against the impersonator.
So, if someone under the key Yahee speaks to you pretending to be Erb and asks you certain questions or requests, it is not really Erb. But after his failed attempt, he should have already realized that Erb is just not trusted enough for anything anyways. Please make no mention of your knowledge of it though. I want to have Erb reply first. If he says anything to you, just play along for now.
The fake Parpello is under the address: 68.189.226.93 Be sure to watch out.
