So, I have decided that I have too much time on computers at school, and I need something to fill the time besides chatting on HG. So, I started an excel spreadsheet, originally making lookup values for base stats of characters, then the more I thought about it, I could really make a complex spreadsheet for, ultimately, everything HG, from a bestiary to a damage calculator to a stat point adder.
However, I'm not going to waste my time and do ALL of that unless people might, actually, y'know, use it. So, I come to the forums, where most respectable people still gather even after having quit HG, and is more or less very uncluttered with the general nubs that tend to pass by.
Vote, and feel free to suggest things I could add to the spreadsheet. So far, I'm only going to go so far as a lookup table for base stats, and a stat point adder.
**Note: If you don't know, a lookup table is where you can input a value, and then see the results saved somewhere else in the spreadsheet. For example, in my spreadsheet you enter whatever level you want to search, then see that classes base stats for that level.**

*glances at all the nubs passing by in above posts*
You were saying? Anyhow, may as well make the fuggin thing. You just said you have nothing but time to burn on the school comps, so wasting it shouldn't be a concern since you already are doing so.

I would say definitely. It would be great to know how much damage you do etc. with the build that you are going with, among other things.

Alright, I have already gotten a lot of votes yes, so this is what I've decided on:
10 Votes Yes I'll include a damage calculator for all skills.
15 Votes I'll try and include an updated bestiary and if I get around an EXP calculator.

I'm glad someone else likes making calculators and such for THG. I still have the original Miscellaneous FFTHG Data text file (the pruned version is on the website as FFTHG.txt) hiding somewhere on my hard drive, along with some spreadsheets that I've goofed around with (one for determining approximately how much damage a weapon adds, one for the influence various buffs/debuffs have on damage output, one outlining defensive potential for every class that showed surprising results, and one that acted as the base for a modified XP system that may show up in a upcoming version).

^ Awesome, Taka. For a few years now, when I'm bored in a computer class, I'd just open a Microsoft Office program and do some random shit. Usually I'd use Powerpoint, cause you can make some REAL badass presentation shit if you put enough work into it. I've only lately learned how much Excel really can do (thanks to BCIS 2 and Computer Applications (first in District, fourth in Regional lulz.)). Mixed with my already fluent knowledge of BASIC and general grasp of most other programming languages, it's practically impossible for me NOT to get a career in computers.
I am a Microsoft Office Word Specialist, and I hope to get my Excel Specialist sometime soon. I think my Senior year, if I can, I'll go for Word... Expert, I think it's called. I have this little certificate saying that I am proficient in Word.
Since I have 11 Votes Yes, (and 1 of the wtf answer), I'm gonna -attempt- to do a damage calculator. Remember, I can't exactly promise that, as a Skill Point Adder alone is around 4 formulas in a single cell.
Also, because I'm a dick, I will be hiding all my formulas and locking all the cells that aren't lookup values, including the stats area (which may just plain be completely hidden).

Here is a small picture showing a bit of what I've done and it's layout. Once I enter all the classes' stats, it will only be a matter to copying formulas and editing their relationships and connections. The yellow cells will, supposedly, be the only cells you can put data in, and the blue cells will contain data of some form, whether it'll show or not. Now, for the somewhat bad news. I'm likely going to have to take this project home because now my teacher has a program that allows her to see what I am doing at the moment. Could be problematic, might not be.

I am officially banning Kyoshi from my threads. Bug off.
Anyway, as an update to the progress of the spreadsheet, I have the stats in for Rangers and Thieves as well, plus the stat point adder for all five classes I have in. It is very certain I can get a damage calculator in - if I put out enough care to make it easy on the weapon part of the damage rating.
The bestiary I can also likely to throw in, considering that I can get the data at home and just transfer to an Excel sheet.
However, the EXP calculator is pushing it a bit. We'll see though.

To be honest, Kyoshi, when I read your post, I couldn't get a single word of it without having to read it a few times. Perhaps you should rephrase it, and not shorten it into as few letters as possible?
And no, you do not gain MP more past the levels posted on the site, to my knowledge. They're hard-coded bonuses, not at every few levels and whatnot.

Good work Shane.
Also, don't turn this thread into flames, I'd hate to lock it. It's the most interesting discussion I've seen in quite a while.
