One thing I've noticed that lowers some of the fun of THG when one is trying to be in character would be completely superfluous names. For instance, the name "$@!#?" can be created. As much as I enjoy player creativity and whatnot, I feel that names should not be made of punctuation, and thus should have a limit of perhaps 3 uses of punctuation, none of which used to start or end it.
For instance, "Mrs. Saturn" or "Hikari-chan" would be acceptable, but "~Doofus~" would be rejected. It would create a more normal feel to the game, as where would one run into somebody with six tildes, twelve ampersands, and a few question marks in their name? It just doesn't happen.

I personally agree with this, though I feel I should hear public opinion beforehand. Personally, I already banned one person's key for doing that with all of their character names.

K-Kya, I-I think I would agree.
A-As long as I can continue to have the hyphen in my name! >-< Nya, but those names with many punctuation marks do tend to get a tiny bit irritated at time. But I think it should be 2 uses of punctuation instead of 3, Kumog~!
B-But I do feel as if we are wrecking creativity for people thinking of names to join with, k-kya.. o.o

Well, I can understand a certain amount of punctuation in a name. Sometimes it's appropriate. For example, it's harder to make the U in "U. Dye" look like an initial without the period. Some legitimate names used in the real world are hyphenated. Can't think of any off the top of my head, but... Anyway, point is, a certain amount of punctuation shouldn't be disallowed, just the excessive shit. Y'know, that shit people do where their whole name is in "1337speek" with like 1 actual letter to make the name fall within specified guidelines.

Kumog and I were talking about this earlier. And, we think this should be added as a rule. Maybe just an add-on to the last rule about "cliche'd" names.
Like I was saying, there's some people that will use things like -=name=- because the name they want is taken. Which imo is fine. But something like &^#$%@ could be changed by either giving the person a choice at first, then if they don't comply we could force a more "appropriate" name on them.

Shit i agree with Kumogs suggestion. ... It's not his suggestion. We both discussed it and decided that this would be the way to go if it was introduced. THIS DOESN'T MEAN IT'S GOING TO HAPPENThis is only loose talk people.
