I was training at ToTE the other day in a party one day and Firemaster was with me. He kept going afk during battles and I kept having to change the time to 10 seconds and changing it back to something like 999 seconds. Then I start to think... What if each party member has his own time limit and when after the time limit, only that individual party member will auto-defense? I find this self timer effective because it will make going afk in battles much more convenient.
-The individual time limit is a good indicator to remind fellow party members that you're afk.
-Party leader do not have to keep changing party time limit every round.
-Like the party's time limit, the individual time limit cannot be under 10 seconds.
-If the individual time limit exceeds the party's time limit, the individual time limit is basically null.
Feel free to leave comments or ask questions.

I love this idea, but it has been brought up and subsequently shot down in the past because it would make irresponsible AFKing extremely easy, such as in powerleveling a person while they sleep/eat dinner/masturbate.

This'd be nice for people multikeying, too. Make one of the alts have a bit higher time-limit than everyone else so that the player can feel less rushed.

o.o I thought there was a time-limit for those who are not the party leader? Since everyone has one, and I thought you could change it for each individual person.. Maybe it was just my imagination~! But it sounds sort of like a nice idea, nya~

To be honest, I like this idea. Let's take it a step farther and see what you all think--- to prevent people abusing this, what say we give the party leader the ability to mark other party members as AFK, and thus make them revert to...perhaps a general AFK time of 20 seconds or so. *Just throwing stuff out there*

Let me be the first to sign on it, though I suggest lowering the afk timer to the minimum of 10.

I like the idea, but I don't like 10 seconds. I'd say 15 would be better. Whenever I go AFK, it usually isn't AFK but that I have to do something requiring a browser and downloading which kills anything else that uses my internet (AKA BYOND). Because of this, my getting the pop-ups slow down severely - sometimes taking as much as 20 seconds to come up. Now, I'm sure no one knows this because I'm like the only person on dial-up, but when you don't get the pop-up before the timer sets off, you have a mini-crash. This happens too much with 10 seconds and I -always- have to reconnect to fix it. 15 seconds would be a bit safer for the matter.

This also happens to me as well. =/
