Stupid me got a virus on my computer. Now, before you start spouting off random suggestions for a quick fix, I shall tell you my position.
-No Windows Recovery CDs
-Control Panel inaccessible
-Firewall and Virus Scanner disabled
Heres why, and you shall see I'm a freaking' dumbass. The virus upon which got into my computer affects everything on the computer's hard drive. Anything I tried to do from the moment I got the virus I got a message saying I did not have proper access, and my Virus Scanner notified me of an infected file that couldn't be fixed. I had the choice of ignoring or quarantining. Guess what I did to 33 different .dlls? I quarantined run32.dll, and most importantly, how the hell this can happen I don't know, I quarantined my own virus scanner. What this means is I can't use my virus scanner, and I can't do shit relating to Control Panel. Recovery Points are out.
How the hell I can still use the computer is a mystery, though the only thing I can do is use my internet browser (which has a plug-in for IRC chat), use Yahoo Messenger, and AIM. I've tried everything, and can't get BYOND to work. Which sucks. I miss Hunting Grounds. *Weeps*
In retrospect, its amazing this computer still WORKS. Here is a summary of its history:
-5 hardcore Viruses
-7 system recoveries (With the CD)
-2 OS upgrades. 98->ME->XP
-Taken apart THREE times
-8 YEARS OLD!!!
-660 MHz
-Started with 64 MB RAM. I can't make that up.
-The biggest of it all, a whopping thirteen (13) Blue Screens of Death.
And before anyone suggests 'get a new computer,' realize that my dad gets around 1100 monthly, and has to pay for diabetes medicine. We dun have the money.
