They tend to happen quite frequently, like the one that just happened about two minutes ago. Usually there is a BH online to handle it, but not this morning. I suggest reboot times be set in such a way so that the lack of admins available will not be an issue in the early morning when things like this happen.

Crashes rarely happen in the morning, as I always reboot at night when going to bed to prevent it. However, this time, my internet dissappeared last night, so such a thing was not possible.

I think that Auto reboot would be a good idea and have it set up to like reboot 2 times a day one at like 4 am and the other at like 6 pm. It would slow down some lag and stress.

But if a Brotherhood Member was not there during those times and there happened to be a crash... It would probably give more to them to handle, and I don't think they want that. If we leave things the way they are, maybe it'll give them less to handle. Auto-Reboots probably get in the way sometimes and if you're in a really big battle...*Doesn't finish*

Yea, i agree with Hikari on this one, auto reboot's cant be stopped and if your in the middle of a boss fight, well it really sucks bad.

Well in such cases you can always try to plan boss fights ahead of time so that you have at least an hour to work through them, given that the auto-reboot system would ideally be set up to reboot at certain times every day. The current reboot system could be recoded to work like that by automatically setting a reboot to occur roughly 10-12 hours after the server first starts up. That way players will periodically be reminded just how long it is until another reboot occurs, and hopefully big parties won't start up a boss fight not long after the system has announced that it's going to reboot the server in 20 minutes. Maybe there could be a player-accessible command that would show the player how long it is until the next reboot, so that the BH and other players don't have to worry about worldsay getting clogged with "hey when is the next reboot gonna be" messages.

That would solve much of the problems, but there would still be some problems nonetheless. Let's say hypothetically a kid's only allowed computer time for an hour a day, between 5:30 and 6:30. If the reboot's at 6:00, that person'd either have to pull in a close call for a boss or face the wrath of a strict parent (who would be lenient and let their kid online only for an hour?). And from what I've seen of v8 Gey, that seems like it will be a hellishly long fight regardless of luck.
Of course, I don't think anyone that has only an hour of online time comes to HG, but that's just a hypothetical situation.

Well, to avoid cases like that the server could be programmed to have a reboot schedule that uses a 'wait period' that doesn't use a factor of 24 (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24). Doing so would mix up the times that reboots occur and reduce the rate at which an identical time is used as the reboot time.
As an example, if the server is programmed to set a reboot for every 7 hours on the hour, then there'd be a seven-day gap between identical reboot times. The series of reboots could look something like this:
Sunday - 4 am, 11 am, 6 pm Monday - 1 am, 8 am, 3 pm, 10 pm Tuesday - 5 am, noon, 7 pm Wednesday - 2 am, 9 am, 4 pm, 11 pm Thursday - 6 am, 1 pm, 8 pm Friday - 3 am, 10 am, 5 pm, midnight Saturday - 7 am, 2 pm, 9 pm
There'd still be hypothetical cases of people who are only allowed to be online for a time frame of half an hour before a reboot and half an hour after one, but that kind of situation is unavoidable if one is willing to take it to an extreme.

I see what you mean now, well I was just saying that as a idea to put intoi the game, but I usually dont kill boss in the early mornings but i do that in the rare ocasion that I wont be on in the afternoon or evening, it crashed in the middle of a Val fight and a Kaug fight when i tried to fight them in the early morning hours and both times no one was on to reboot the server so i was stuck like that untill they killed me =(.

Pay attention to the post dates of threads, and if you really don't have a message beyond "lol I agree" or simple commentary on the thread to convey, leave week old and older threads alone (exception being stickied topics). Also, run your spell checker for the sake of readability. Your spelling and grammar are atrocious. That is not being said to insult, only speaking the truth.
