Alright. You all know me. Mostly. So I'll just say this as simply as I can: I don't know if this has been suggested before or not. I've only been here since June or July, and I only started really using the forum in the last month. At any rate, this is my suggestion. Just, if you gotta shoot it down... no mercy. I'd like to think I went down hard.
Exiled
Icons: All icons from Swear to No One... and maybe some Hassite ones, for ex-Hassites
Basically, this is for people who want a look of badassness about them(badassed in that they stole a guy's stereo, got caught, and chucked out on their ass). These are people who USED to have an allegiance but were exiled for some crime, then decided to become investigators, allowing them back into their kingdoms for the purpose of their investigations.
Enlightened
Icons: All icons from Swear to No One
This becomes available to anyone without an allegiance the moment they become Enlightened. Example: if I were to do this...
Before: "U Dye the Knight has re-entered the world."
After: "U Dye the Knight of The Enlightened has re-entered the world."
Anyway, that's what I thunk up. If this has been suggested before, someone just delete it and PM me or something.

New Allegiances wouldn't fit with the game prospects and of that of the timeline, culture, and most importanly; the story. At least you were thinking about something...just remember to factor in what I mentioned.

Well, I DID kinda have something storyline-like in my mind for the Enlightened one... Kind of a little bit... The site, I think in the History section, mentions something about a group called the Enlightened appearing at a certain point. (I think I'm gonna go look that over when I'm less tired, so I at least have specifics.) That's kinda what gave rise to the second idea I put out there.
As for the Exiled one, well... Basic thought process here: laws exist, people break laws, people get chucked out on their ass, people become investigators... They don't actually swear allegiance to a group of exiles or anything, but they ARE exiles... And that's where that one came from.

I really really like this idea two thumbs up Dye. This also would help out knowing who's been enlightened, instead of typing the who command and looking for high levels to play with.

Well that's rather exclusionary. Since it would ONLY affect Enlightened that had no allegiance I don't see how it would actually solve that "problem" of finding people to play with. Out of curiousity...do you have an Allegiance on your Knight, Dye?

What'd you think it would be if their renounced their allegiance for another group? Sounds along the lines of treason to me. I don't see how it would actually solve that "problem" of finding people to play with. I was never aware the was a problem... Out of curiousity...do you have an Allegiance on your Knight, Dye? No. Mainly because I wanted to have the P.Cecil icon. Is this question relevant?

Well, it sounded like a bonus for those who have no allegiance (which are supposed to be a group of their own and no different to kingdoms as far as character sets go). With your example, I wanted to ask that because the question sounded like a disguised "I want a new icon".

Oh, nonononono. I don't want a new icon, mm-mm. I WOULD like to have stances in battle(Mett said that wasn't a bad idea, which is a good sign), but that's as close to wanting a new icon as I'm gonna get.

Maybe a better way would be to give them a "subtitle".
"U Dye the Englightened Knight of Dainan has entered the world"
That way, the status of Enlightenment could carry over to anyone who has reached that far in the game (and not screwing everyone who would've liked it but already played too far to remake their characters). It wouldn't be treason to someone's kingdom as you put it and is acknowledgable while not a "better than you" in that anyone who gets that far in the game can be recognized as such.

I guess that could work, as long as the subtitle remained optional. Some people out there might not actually want that as part of their title.
