Howdy, Solemn here!
I know, me on the forums, run.
Anyway, I was hoping to suggest some sort of disciplinary system for when there are no GMs active or on, y'know?
A report system, the usual, 20 players report you your muted for 10 minutes.
I have come to the conclusion that this would be useful based on a long winded argument between only two players who refuse to agree or even let it go, as well as arguing in WSay despite several attempts at reminding them there is a tell feature.
Seeing as how they're probably still arguing, their key names being Valfor and JRG, however even if they were ceased right at this moment, it's still been anywhere from an hour to half an hour I believe, don't know for sure. Either way, personally with 20 people required to mute someone, especially if it were by I.P, or maybe Key. I.P being better. But if an I.P/key could report someone once, to avoid someone abusing it. Either way, just thought I'd suggest it.

I agree. I should be stopped, I'm an arguing menace. Ban me plzkthx.
Honestly, I usually don't take such a long time in an argument to prove the other person wrong, but there seems to be a trend now of people using a way of arguing completely avoiding the topic of argument and instead pointing out random off-topic flaws and poking at self-esteem, and those arguments tend to be the longest.
Anyway, I say only 10 players report you and WSay is disabled. This would solve the problem of late-night gaming with only like 11 people on. =)

Wsay being disabled for the whole game? Or just your Wsay being turned off? I'd miss Wsay if it were gone over someone else and may be a little bitter. With only 10 people though, it'd be a little easier to abuse, besides then people could run aruond annoying in say. xD

The person's WSay.
And if someone does that in Say you can either Report them or flat out Ignore them. Same as in Tell.
And also, 10 people makes more sense unless you want to count multikeys in the voting process, in which I could just use my 14 or so keys and get someone practically muted just because.

Ignoring them normally would work just fine, but I try to avoid ignoring people because it honestly seems rude to cut them off. The idea behind this was to just end the argument without making everyone ignore the person just to play without spam, as well as to make sure that if someone was bothering basically the whole server, it was able to be punished without a GM on. Ignore is the ideal way but without being able to tell when they stop arguing, it's hard to take someone off ignore. Seeing as how an argument doesn't give a good impression but it also isn't how people always are. (Except for Wisdom! ;D jk)
The Ip and associated keys list like the ban and mutes are on would be the best way to avoid it being abused, so that no matter what you do the keys you have used on the same IP can't report a person that you already reported. 10 people may be wise, it just seems to me that it'd be easier to mute someone, and it isn't for punishment just a means to an end basically, not supposed to be used frequently or at least I hope not, but to simply end a pointless dispute when people refuse to keep it to themselves.

The idea has merit, but it falls under the same categorial idea as allowing players to reboot the server. So chances are it wont see the light of day. If people (like you, Shane) didnt help drag fights out longer just to see who can win, it'd not be so much an issue. I really dont want to have to be the one who tones you down.

I can't help it. I can't live with myself knowing that there are menaces that poke at people's self-esteem and avoid topics to win arguments cheaply so they don't have to use their little brainpower. I'm doing the world a favor by teaching them that it doesn't win arguments all the time. ... .. Okay, so maybe that's not true completely, but still, I can't help myself. Trust me, Nate. I've gotten in fewer arguments in the past six months than I usually do in two months. I'm holding back, seriously, but there are those people that piss me off that much.

(Except for Wisdom! ;D jk) Ignoring someone may seem like a good way to deal with the problem, but that's the problem. It's NOT. If some dumbass comes onto the server and starts flaming everyone and advertising other games and whatever else you can do, he's still being a dick, disrespecting the players and the rules, and no amount of ignoring him will change that. In fact, ignoring him means that nothing is getting done, so when other people come into the game, they're subject to his shit too.

I was online when this happened, the arguement was so retarded, it wasn't even worth my time. This will not happen. Kija is always logging Wsay. Even if he's not there, I have people that go into logging mode for me when there's no admin on. If you people wait for no admin to be on to argue, we will see it you can be sure. There will be no "No AdMinz on les akt lkie ashatz lollulolozl!!1" I will permaban anyone that wants to act like an asshole because they think that they can get away with it.

Reporting things is absolutely encouraged. But the idea's set-up strips people of a bit of freedom, I think. I agree with Dye on this, to an extent. However, if you're having a problem with someone, and they're not exactly breaking any rules- just annoying you. Ignore them, it's just that simple.
With this system, Solemn, a person can organize false incrimination on someone simply because they don't like them and ultimately rule in unjust punishments. If you see something you don't like and KNOW it's against a rule, and nobody is around to see it, report it. The forums, and e-mail work wonders, people.
Bugs are the same. If you find a bug, report it via e-mail.

Everything has flaws. Yeah, I know you were on Constantine but you hadn't moved for a while so I wasn't sure if you were there. lol But damn it was irritating. It's like listening to a song you don't like to begin with, and it playing non-stop on repeat for half an hour to an hour, I'm just not a big fan of ignore, it inself drives people insane to know. Like that one idiot who got ignored by Gab, he sat there for hours in Wsay begging people to tell Gab he's sorry. I even told Gab and got ignored for doing that. xD Just seems like there has to be something else to be done, but it's out of my reach, all of the faults mentioned above are valid. But it's basically the same with all automated or player based disciplinary system. I'm not sure even Kija could code something that could determine whether it was doing something wrong or right and do or do not punish. xD Be like I.Robot.

Gabe loves his ignore command. The trick to getting off the list is to party with him and wait for a conversation to come up where he either HAS to unignore you or put up with everyone repasting your message.
