As we all know, Enlightenment gives +300 HP and +30 to str, vit, dex, agi and will. The only cardinal stat not included is MP, and I've come to wonder why. Was it considered unnecessary? Was it seen as a hassle separating a melee-based MP bonus from a mage-based one (and separating those from the bonus a Ranger would get, given that a Ranger's skill set leans towards melee but they get a mage-based MP system)?
It just seems weird to me, now that I think about it.

That is probably why. I think a minor boost would be fine, but it would definitely have to be class specific. And once the new system comes out, some will not even have MP, but any other number could be potentially boosted as well if workable with the balance. But, we can think about all of that when we actually get there. If you want to work out some MP numbers for the current setup though, we could see what we can do.

Hrm. Going by the current system, I'd say that an MP bonus of +8 for melee classes and a bonus of +200 for mages should work. Rangers would get half of whatever bonus a mage gets, so +100 MP for them. Their skills currently make use of max MP, so extra MP won't mean more uses of Hunt and the three Calls anyways... but if they need/want to use magic, having that extra MP would help.
As it stands, the melee classes have 11-14 MP at level 50 (a good level for starting out in ToTE, give or take a few levels), while the mages have somewhere between ~210 MP (Red Mage) and ~320 MP (Black Mage). Rangers have about 150 MP.
Skill and spell-wise, the various bonuses would mean an extra use or two of the top skills for each melee class, excluding Ranger for reasons noted above (almost three extra uses for Dragoons; IMO, Crush should have its MP cost bumped up from 3 to 4) and the same for the top spells for a Blue/White/Black Mage.

Damn, I could do 6 Nukes with that MP boost. Imagine a pure MP Blackmage. That sounds a bit too much.

Perhaps more like half of those previously listed values.

Hrm. Yeah, +4/+50/+100 would likely be better.
