I didn't think an old topic deserved necromancy for my question.
I downloaded Version 4 of THG and I am having some fun with it. My question, though, is about Hosting. I can successfully host a game but nobody (namely my brothers at home here) can join, the connection always fails. It isn't the firewall, i turned it off and they still cannot connect. Same goes for when I attempt to join them. We can only join our own localhosts.
Is this feature not supported? Or are we doing something wrong?
If this is some sort of technical babble that doesn't belong on this forum, let me know.

Version four does support hosting, so it is not the game itself that causing the problem. As to the cause, I am not sure. If you have not tried, you could see if this problem occurs in other BYOND games you try to host as well. If you have a router, you may need to do port forwarding.

Port forwarding was the answer. Now we can join up and kick some monsters old-school style. Thanks for releasing it, by the way.
EDIT: Can I get a couple questions answered about version 4, if that's OK?
1. Area spells and special skills (AKA Dragoon): not implemented in this version? 2. Basically going to the inn is best, 20 gp for full heals, while potions cost more? 3. What is caction? 4. How far does Version 4 go for bosses and accessible areas? I know it goes as far as Ranook Graveyard, but that's all I know.
That's all, thanks for any replies.

1) Correct. Not implemented till Version 5.
2) uhhhh, I guess. *shrug*
3) Caction was an old verb that was no real significance, really.
4) Just up to Ranook Graveyard.

More information on Caction: Caction was a proc used for objs that allowed you to speak to NPCs. However, in version four, they accidently made it verb instead of proc, causing it to show up in your commands tab whenever you had an item in your inventory, as the base setting src for obj verbs is in usr.
