I didn't even read all of that. I couldn't; too full of Churchie speak. I saw the words "purification of heart" and I said fuck that.

I love violent video games. Maybe I love playing them because I have a violent nature... Besides, majority of people who play violent video games, have a "need" for playing them. Doing something that would not be possible in real life, releases alot of anger for some people. It is also fun to blow up people and cut off heads in games. With people banning books; trying to ban Harry Potter books, Of Mice and Men, To Kill a Mockingbird, and many others...people are screwing up the world. People like this and ones for games, this land is becoming a fucking Nazi enviorment. The next thing we know, we are going to all have to heil our god damn "Hitler". I couldn't find the article that was in the past several months on any news sites yet but it was a heated topic awhile back on banning books like that, even Harry Potter ones.

oh, yea, i'm pretty sure Harry Potter is on the banned books list, with Fahrenheit 4something and other 'controversial books' it's all quite retarded, and Harry Potter is like, absolutely NOT allowed in hardcore christian schools or w.e

I understand what you're saying, Mahn. These nanny-statists don't understand that they can be offended by something without ruining it for everyone else. Don't like the content of a game/book/movie/whatever? DON'T EXPOSE YOURSELF TO IT. There are so many people in politics and elsewhere trying to force their (ignorant and often mis-informed) views upon everyone and it makes me sick. It makes me even more sick that people actually fall for this stuff. I think the government's already overstepped its bounds with their regulations on porn and regulatory bodies like the FCC, and I don't need or want Big Brother peeking over my shoulder. Luckily, once the gamer generation takes over, the "evils" of video games will no longer be an issue, and the people of our generation who somehow forgot about all this BS will go create another boogeyman. As for the original article, the guy is basically saying "Monkey see, monkey do" (either that or talking about "thought crime," but I won't get into how stupid that is), which is total crap. People don't shoot up their cities after playing GTA because they understand the huge consequences of such an act. Anyone who doesn't obviously has some sort of problem and entertainment media can't be blamed for their actions. I mean, we don't prosecute gun manufacturers when a person shoots someone, why should this be any different? Ugh. What's sad is that some people will read that article and believe what he's saying. I can't stand all the Christian influences upon our culture. -_- Oh yeah, I think you guys would enjoy this article: theapp.appstate.edu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1685&Itemid=41 I didn't think it was possible, but this woman actually makes Jack Thompson sound level-headed and well-informed. /whew

Because of this crap I can't even find a decent book in the library anymore. Nor are the card players allowed to dual in the morning. Hell I got sent to the office for reading a harry potter book cause some, no offense to anyone who is a christan, whiny ass christan complained that it was "immoral" and I was told to put it away or goto the office. Since I had no other books or homework, and i would be sent to the office either way, I kept reading. Its kinda stupid to see what kind of crap people try these days. If they think this crap will stop kids from buying games, then they can kiss my ass if they try and prevent me from getting a game i want.
