So I haven't had time to read enjoy reading lately, but it occurs to me if I don't make time, I may well devolve into yet another mouth-breathing troglodyte. Anyhow, this is a thread for folks to share whatever they've read/been reading/want to read and/or recommend to read. Most recently, I've (re)read A Werewolf Problem in Central Russia [et al][/u], which is an excellently surreal collection of short stories. I'm a big fan of Kafka and literature that underscores and illustrates the inherent absurdity of existence. Tonight I bought Armageddon in Retrospect[/u] as well as a collection of Oscar Wilde's work. Hopefully I'll have the time to read, and the motivation to post here in the near future. Erm... for those who inevitably say "reading is hard/boring", much like exercise, it gets easier and more enjoyable the more you do it, the trick being to find something that's particularly suited to you to begin with. If I might, I'd ask that we try to be polite; I'm as much of a condescending elitist bastard as the next guy, but we can do better than a literary pissing contest. Probably.

I read Warriors / Warriors: The New Prophecy by Erin Hunter. Pretty good series. About 14 Books in total. Only fourteen? God damn are you behind. WarriorsInto the Wild Fire and Ice Forest of Secrets Rising Storm Dangerous Path Darkest Hour The New ProphecyMidnight Moonlight Dawn Starlight Twilight Sunset The Power of ThreeThe Sight Dark River Outcast Eclipse - Scheduled to release September 2 Long Shadows - November 25 Sunrise - Unknown Release Date It is ALSO confirmed there will be a FOURTH, and possibly FINAL series. Firestar's Quest - Not part of a series Field GuidesSecrets of the Clan Cats of the Clan Code of the Clan - 2009 MangaLost Warrior Warrior's Refuge Warrior's Return Rise of Scourge Into the Woods - September 2 Escape from the Forest - December 23 Ravenpaw's Trilogy - Unknown That does NOT add up to 14, Wizkid. GET BACK TO READING! =) (There will be at least 32 books by the end of the Warriors franchise, bytheway.) Now, for the people that don't know about the series, it follows, at first, a housecat and his journey joining a group of wild cats, a Clan, as a war between four Clans break out. It includes concepts of faith, terrorism, survival, and albeit a children's series it has some very serious matters in it. Anyone curious on starting the books, start with Into the Wild. (By the way, I pulled all of this except for release dates from memory. I have every book released so far and have read them all three times. Love the series.)

I love you for that Realis. I actually have to read a book for my Summer Reading. Around 2 weeks till school starts and I didnt get it yet. I'm gunna read The Messenger or something like that. Its the sequal to The Giver that I read in Enlgish class, which was a very interesting book. So I'm going to read The Messenger as soon as I feel like going to the Library.

The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. It's about the son in a family's household who awakens to find himself in the form of a bug. It goes to show how people react to great changes in people they know well, especially if the change is degrading in some fashion, as well as the uselessness of things that don't work toward the benefit of family or, from a larger perspective, the human race.
